The Space Alien was worried. "You aren't getting any younger"
remarked the Space Alien to Your Editor,
"and you will soon have yet another birthday!"
"That is true," answered Your Editor.
"Does that concern you?"
"Yes! I am concerned!" said the Space Alien.
"You are getting quite old for a human being!"
"That is quite true." agreed Your Editor.
"And humans die when they are around your age!"
continued the Space Alien.
"How does that concern you?" asked Your Editor.
That question surprised the Space Alien.
"If you were not here to give me adventures my life would be quite boring!"
"And that's all?" asked Your Editor
"Wouldn't you miss me?"
"Miss you? Well I would miss what you do for me!"
"And that's it?" grumped Your Editor.
"So what did you expect?" asked the Space Alien.
"Well -- I thought you might miss me," said Your Editor.
After all, we have been together for many years!"
"Miss you? I never thought of it that way." mused the Space Alien.
"But I guess I would miss you. It has been lovely having you in my life!"
They sat in silence for quite a while and then the Space Alien and Your Editor dozed off for a peaceful night,
