THE SPACE ALIEN RECALLS INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Space Alien has been studying the Declaration of Independence.     

The Space Alien's carefully framed facsimile of this document in which the United States declared independence from Great Britain, is dated July 4, 1776, the date on which we celebrate this event.  

It was necessary to explain to the public the reasons for this declaration, and it took two days to reach agreement on the text.  Today we may read this in our own copies of the Declaration of Independence.

 Once Congress had approved this resolution it was sent to a printer and 200 copies were made. Of these, 26 remain.
